Air pollution reduces in Tehran

A report by the state-owned Iran Newspaper reported that the level of air pollution in Iran’s capital Tehran has reduced over the past two months.

Tehran has experienced 11 days of clean air over the past two months since the new Iranian calendar year started in March 20, the report said.

Meanwhile, the air quality was in an acceptable level for 54 days in the capital city, the report added. This is while Tehran over the last Iranian calendar year had only 21 days of clean air.

Over the past several years, some Iranian cities including Tehran have been suffering from air pollution.

In a mid-May report, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that Zabol City in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan ranked first among the most polluted cities in the world.
